Linking Biotech Breakthroughs to Developing Country Vaccine Manufacturers
The goal of the Innovation Bridge, based at the University of Michigan in the United States, is to help new vaccine ideas become available for children and adults in the developing world more quickly and at more affordable prices. Team experts in vaccines, economics, business, and intellectual property will help link vaccine developers in the industrialized world with vaccine manufacturers in developing countries, in order to facilitate partnerships and accelerate the research and development of new vaccine technologies. The Innovation Bridge team will concentrate on the vaccine priority areas of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, diarrheal diseases and pneumonia.
